Third-graders will read and write about various types of stories and articles, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry and plays. They will become skilled in multiplication and division as well as measuring the size and weight of objects.

Encourage your children to read a variety of books. If they are avid readers of children’s stories, have them try poetry or non-fiction. Include kids in home-improvement projects that involve measurements and math.
