Community Involvement
Volunteering
Research shows that when parents and other caring adults are involved, students achieve more. That's why DVUSD is committed to reaching out and involving parents and the community in its efforts to make a difference for over 35,000 students and their families. We focus on providing programming that is based on the six nationally recognized involvement standards:
- Welcoming all families into the school community
- Communicating effectively
- Supporting student success
- Speaking up for every child
- Sharing power
- Collaborating with the community
If you would like to help in your child's classroom or elsewhere on our campus, you must attend a Volunteer Basic Training. This is only for parents who have not attended a Volunteer Basic Training in the past. Training will run approximately 1 hour. Registration is not required, but it would be helpful to determine seating and materials needed. If you would like to attend, please contact Lorraine Bishop at Lorraine.Bishop@dvusd.org.
NOTE: If you cannot make one of the Park Meadows times, you are welcome to attend a Volunteer Basic Training at any another school in our district.
