Ms. Gould
Welcome! This will be my 9th year in Special Education, and my 4th year at Park. Over the years I have taken multiple trainings on working with students with Autism. One was for STAR curriculum which is an ABA approach to helping increase communication both receptive and expressive. I was trained in TEACCH which has the approach to collaboratively work with parents, therapists, teachers, and the student to develop work habits by utilizing work systems.
Special education is a passion of mine. I have worked with students with autism, developmental delays, ADHD, Multiple Disabilities, Specific Learning Disabilities, Downs Syndrome, Mild intellectual Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities, and more. I am a firm believer that ALL children are capable of success. My job is to provide them the tools and strategies to increase independence as well as future career readiness.
This is my first year teaching in our SCORE program for grades 3-6. I am very excited to work with you and your children. My goal is to increase their ability to work using their work system to increase engagement with academic tasks. My goal is also to help them communicate wants and needs more easily using various modes of communication such as Signs, PECS, and various voice output devices.
Outside of school, I am a parent to 3 beautiful kids. My oldest is in 5th grade here at Park. My middle child is in kindergarten at park. My youngest is turning 3 this year. My family is so important to me!
