Ahoy! I am excited to work with you in making this year a wonderful experience for your child. Together, we will develop your student into a lifelong learner. (My classroom is pirate-themed!)
I attended Arizona State University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have been creating lessons since 2013 and have taught first grade since 2017. I like to stay updated on the latest research and practices.
My focus at the start of the school year is to get to know each student. I then establish and maintain a classroom community that encourages positive student-to-student interactions. I believe that behavior is taught just like how students learn to read and write. Once this is put into place, we are free to explore our content in a hands-on, engaging manner.
