Grading Policy
Project grades:
Students' work is based on completion of the assignment criteria and the overall quality/effort displayed in the work. The goal is to encourage children's growth as idea-generating, creative individuals while increasing awareness of craftsmanship. We discuss, as a class, the learning goal, the project we are making, and I demonstrate how to use art materials correctly. Each assignment contains a grading rubric which will be adhered to.
Coursework grade:
This is a completion grade- if there is effort shown, full credit is awarded.
LATE ASSIGNMENTS/CORRECTIONS:
I will be accepting late work until 3:30pm, 3 days before the end of the quarter.
Students wishing to make corrections on an assignment and re-submit to earn additional points may do so, up to 100% of the original points. Re-submissions may be submitted up to the day before the grading period ends.
There will be no points deducted for any late work turned in before the last Friday of the quarter.
Work turned in after the last Friday of the quarter will not be included in that quarter's grades.

About Mrs. Ozuna
I am so excited to be part of the Park Meadows Family. I'm an Arizona Native, and my husband and daughter are part of the Deer Valley Family. We love the many things to do in Arizona and take frequent trips. In addition to traveling, our family loves to swim, craft, play sports, video and board games, and go out to eat at new restaurants.
I am a graduate of Northern Arizona University with a bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation management with an emphasis in Event Planning and a Minor in Studio Art. Besides this degree, I have an MBA from the University of Phoenix and an MAEd in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. This will be my 7th year as an educator. My philosophy is based upon the right of each child to have an equal opportunity to develop to his or her fullest potential intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically. Students are future innovators, entrepreneurs, creative thinkers, researchers, and world citizens.
Participating in Art class helps students enhance their creativity, extend their awareness and understanding of the visual world, and develop fine motor skills. It is my privilege to guide students while they explore and develop their skills in personal expression and the development of ideas.
My goals for my students are for them to become intelligent problem solvers, enjoy learning, and display positive character traits and integrity.
